Cold Brook Farm 2024 Spring Honey – Set of 3

Our Spring drought severely limited nectar flow and allowed just ninety-five (95) 12-ounce jars of honey to be safely harvested from our hives. The upside of this extremely low production is a set of highly individual and stunningly complex honeys that offer a truly unique tasting experience.

Because we are intent on creating a balanced ecosystem here on the Farm and want our native bees and pollinators to have abundant food sources(European Honeybees are not native and compete for nectar), we maintain just four bee hives on our 43-acres. We also manage them organically and humanely, leaving most of the honey produced in the hives. In fact, for our Spring 2024 honey we opted to take honey from just three hives and as mentioned above, an extremely limited amount at that!

Due to both its scarcity and how incredibly different the honey from each hive looks and tastes, we decided to bottle each hive’s honey separately. Although our four hives all sit within several feet of one another (in a gorgeous native wildflower meadow), and because honeybees are highly territorial and the bees from each hive forage in different places and at different times of day, the resulting honeys are completely different.
